C. Luke O’Reilly ’71

C. Luke O’Reilly ’71 died of cancer on June 21, 2017, in Los Angeles. Luke was a gifted athlete. He started alpine skiing at an early age and later became a champion water skier. He was picked for the British Olympic ski team at the Winter Olympics in Grenoble, France, in February 1968. Later that same year Luke matriculated at Dartmouth, where he was a member of Heorot. Shortly after graduating in 1971, he became a radio DJ in Philadelphia. While visiting England in 1972, Luke attended an Al Green concert and was so taken by the performance that he persuaded Green to change management. Thus, Luke became a music manager. He formed Kinetic Productions Ltd., a talent management and record production company that included artists such as the Chieftains and Joe Strummer. For 20 years Luke ran Concertworks, which capitalized on his experience as a manager and offered tour managers software for managing all aspects of live touring. He then created in 2002 a company called Alisonic LLC, a download and streaming company. His final project was a company based around the successful property development and real estate work of Luke’s partner and wife of 30-plus years, Jeeb, called Foxtrot Oscar Re Inc. He was a music lover, pilot, businessman and devoted husband. He was honored in 2014 by Dartmouth with induction into the Wearers of the Green in recognition of his athletic achievement as an Olympic skier. Luke is survived by Jeeb, stepson Tori and his fiancée, Diana, and mother-in-law Shirley.
