Richard S. Cross ’57

Richard S. Cross ’57 died from a stroke in Port Saint Lucie, Florida, on February 15. Dick and his wife, Jacqueline, split their time between homes in Farmington, Connecticut, and Chebeague Island, Maine. Dick grew up in New Britain, Connecticut. He graduated from New Britain High School and Hebron Academy, entering Dartmouth in 1953. At Dartmouth he majored in history and was a member of Zeta Psi. Dick spent three years in the U.S. Army. He then had a long career in banking, retiring in 2003. Dick lived in Bristol, Connecticut, for many years and was very active in the First Congregational Church and the Exchange Club Music Festival. He loved sports and enjoyed volunteering in Little League baseball and Midget football. He also loved music and singing with church choirs and Bristol Choral Society. He moved to Farmington in 2000. His favorite spot in the world was his front porch on Chebeague Island. Dick leaves his wife, three children and five grandchildren.
