Thomas E. Barker ’57

Thomas E. Barker ’57 died on August 18, 2016, in Exeter, New Hampshire, after a brief illness. Thomas grew up in New Hampshire and came to Dartmouth in 1953 from Phillips Exeter Academy. He received his bachelor’s from the University of New Hampshire and a divinity degree from Andover Newton Theological Seminary. Thomas served as minister at churches in New Hampshire (Newington, Wakefield, Epson, Goffs Falls, Newfield and Auburn), Massachusetts (Tyngsboro. Merrimac, Woburn, Maynard, Rockland and Bradford), and Maine (North Berwick). Thomas was known for an abundant and sometimes quirky sense of humor, love of presidential history and affection for his cats. Thomas leaves his wife, Elaine, two daughters, a stepdaughter, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
