Mike Wolff ’67, dean of the Saint Louis University School of Law and former Missouri Supreme Court chief justice, has been named to St. Louis Magazine’s “Power List 100.” “His boyish, self-deprecating humor banishes any sense of Solomon, but he swiftly extricates the real issue from the confused mess of bias, politicking and misperception,” according to the magazine.
Sean Bersell ’81, senior vice president of public affairs at Entertainment Merchants Association, has been named to the list of “Top 50 Movers and Shakers of Home Entertainment” by Home Media Magazine. “Bersell has been a driving force on the progress the association has made to become an advocate of digital delivery technology standards,” Home Media reported.
Robert “Monty” Wilkinson ’83 has earned the U.S. Department of Justice Mary C. Lawton Lifetime Service Award. His nearly 25 years with the department have included leadership roles in the U.S. attorney’s office for the District of Columbia, the office of the U.S. attorney general and, most recently, as the director of the executive office for U.S. attorneys.
Anne Mullins ’00 was named Teacher of the Year at the University of North Dakota School of Law in Grand Forks, where she teaches legal research and writing and trial advocacy. She has also recently been named to the executive committee for the American Association of Law Schools legal writing, reasoning and research section.
Phyllis Utley ’84, Asheville–Buncombe (North Carolina) Technical Community College’s diversity recruiter, has been named to the list of “Eight Asheville Influentials for 2016” by Mountain Xpress. The newspaper cites her ability to present college as an option in underserved communities and success in increasing Latino enrollment at the school by nearly 3 percent.
Josh Stein ’88 has been sworn in as the 50th attorney general of North Carolina. The Raleigh resident most recently served as a Democratic state senator for four terms.
Matt Burke ’98 has been promoted from Miami Dolphins linebackers coach to defensive coordinator of the team. A former linebackers coach of the Detroit Lions and Cincinnati Bengals, Burke played safety on Dartmouth’s undefeated Ivy League championship team in 1996.
