Class Note 2007
Hello, ’07s! By the time you read this it will pretty much be 2017. You know what that means: 10-year reunion! How did that happen?
Anyway, with the 10-year comes a new, class-wide election for class executive committee for the positions of president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. If you’re looking for a way to engage and lead the class, consider running for one of these positions! Look out for more information coming soon. Now onto the notes!
Ansley (Watson) Burnett had a baby born September 8 named Audrey Julianna Burnett!
Christina Luccio married David Sargent on September 24 at the Chicago Cultural Center in Chicago. Severina Ostrovsky Skopets, Erika Ruberry, Lauren Hassouni and Jordan (Kutcher) Grant stood by her side and many close friends surrounded her, including Ali Amrhein ’06, Sahiba (Sarna) Krieger, Laura (Flannery) Masters, David Faherty, Sean Garren, Will DeKrey ’08, Adam Goldfarb ’08, Kate Davison and Mat Ackerman ’05. Christina and David will continue to reside in Chicago.
Caitlin K. Potratz: “I raced my first Ironman at Mont Tremblant, Canada, this August. Still trying to decide if another one’s in my future!”
Vaughn Booker: “I completed my Ph.D. in religion at Princeton University this summer. I am currently a research associate at Dartmouth and I will become assistant professor of religion and African and African American studies here beginning in the 2017-18 academic year.”
Sam Beattie: “Good news for the fall! My stretch of ‘fun-employment’ is over and I’ve started a new job as a game designer at PopCap Games, in downtown Seattle, working on Plants vs. Zombies 2. With both Julie and I now employed, we’re finally feeling settled in Seattle. We’ve also attended several of the Dartmouth Club of Seattle get-togethers, so we’re keeping in touch with other alums!”
Sara (Huneke) Segall: “I’ve started a skiwear company, Orsden. Our debut collection features ski jackets for men and women. They’re perfect for skiing in New England, so look out for them on the slopes this winter (or check out orsden.com).”
Finally, our fearless leader/queen bee John Valdez and “he’s a doctah!” Chris Abrecht ’08 married in San Francisco with flowers in their hair. They were surrounded and serenaded by dear friends, including Carolyn Kylstra ’08, Lisa Moon ’08, Julia Jacobsen ’08, Jacques Hebert, Derrick Smith and Jesse Shaw. Ya-ya!
That’s it for now, folks. See you in a few short months at the reunion!
Cheers!
