Stanley Douglas Skaug ’43

Stanley Douglas Skaug ’43 died in Omaha, Nebraska, on August 10, 2016, and was buried with military honors. Stan grew up in Clarkfield, Minnesota. He graduated from Clarkfield High School, where he was class president, student council president, on the school paper and captain of both the football and basketball teams. At Dartmouth he majored in history, was a member of Alpha Delta Phi, Palaeopitus, Green Key and Casque & Gauntlet and captain of the basketball team—named All-American in 1943. After military service Stan and his new wife, Norma, moved to Omaha, where Stan worked for Jostins, a large jewelry and stationery outlet. Stan eventually became sales manager. Stan was predeceased by Norma and a great-granddaughter. He is survived by children Steve, Mary and Nancy ’76 and their spouses; seven grandchildren (including Paul Seel ’08); and eight great-grandchildren.
