Richard W. Swain ’51

Richard W. Swain ’51 died at his home in Grand Haven, Michigan, on July 25. He is survived by three children, including son David ’78. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. His wife, Mary, predeceased him. At Dartmouth Dick was a member of Phi Delta Theta. He received an M.B.A. from the Tuck School in 1952 and went on to serve as a lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Dick’s business career included stints at Ohio Oil Co. and Michigan Brass Co. and 32 years with Elkay Manufacturing Co., a manufacturer of stainless steel sinks, where he served as vice president of sales.
