Louis Arthur Buie Jr. ’49

Louis Arthur Buie Jr. ’49 died on May 11 near Edina, Minnesota, where he lived. Raised in Rochester, Minnesota, Bud came to Dartmouth from Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts. He took his medical training at Dartmouth and the University of Minnesota and his surgical fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He spent his career at Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis, serving as chief of staff and chief of surgery. Bud literally was an ace golfer, making eight holes-in-one. He is survived by his wife, Joann, three sons and two daughters.
