Lawrence H. Callahan ’47

Lawrence H. Callahan ’47 died on July 16 in Vero Beach, Florida, where he grew up and attended Liberty High School. He joined the Navy and completed basic training before qualifying for officer training in the V-12 unit. He majored in sociology, completed his degree at Dartmouth and then earned a degree from the University of Rochester. In 1948 he joined Armistice Foundry as an administrative assistant. In 1960 he moved to Rochester Bronze and Aluminum Foundry, where he became president and owner in 1967. He sold the business in the 1980s and moved to Florida. He and his wife were founding members of the Harmony Island community and were members of the Grand Harbor Golf Club. They enjoyed retirement in the Indian River community.
