Richard A. Leary ’47
Richard A. Leary ’47 died June 6 at his home in New London, New Hampshire. He was born June 16, 1925, in Dorchester, Massachusetts, grew up in Quincy, Massachusetts, graduated from North Quincy High School and attended Vermont Academy. He served in the Army during WW II and returned to Dartmouth to graduate as an economics major while participating in the Corinthian Yacht Club and the Aegis. He joined Electrical Agencies in Boston, where he rose to become president and treasurer until his retirement in 1990. From 1950 to 1961 he served on the Hingham, Massachusetts, school committee and coached in youth baseball and hockey programs. He moved to New London in 1984 and enjoyed playing golf and woodworking. In both Hingham and New London he served as a Eucharistic minister in his parish. He served on the class executive committee from 1997 to 2016. He is survived by his wife and seven children, including Steven ’70.
