John Stephen Lewis ’75

John Stephen Lewis ’75 died on November 29, 2015. Stephen was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and grew up in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After graduating from Dartmouth he returned to the South and attended University of Houston Law School. Upon beating cancer in 1991, he completed a year of nursing school, rounding out a varied educational background. He was also active in the community and volunteered for the food pantry at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Houston, where he contributed selflessly, especially after Hurricane Ike. He was close with his family, and is survived by sister Catherine, brother James, sister-in-law Nancy and niece Margaret.
