William John Mayberry ’54

William John Mayberry ’54 passed away on December 27, 2015 in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. Bill came to Dartmouth from Aldershot, Ontario, Canada, where he attended Burlington High School. At Dartmouth he was a sociology major, member of lightweight crew, brother of Psi Upsilon and member of Dragon. Following graduation Bill worked for two years in banking and attended St. Stephen’s College and the University of Alberta, where he received a divinity degree. He then entered the ministry of the United Church in Canada. He served in Northern Alberta, followed by six years in Jamaica with the New Church Development in Kingston. After a new church was built and a prep school established, he moved to Labrador for two years and then to Newfoundland, serving for eight years in Corner Brook. Thereafter he moved to the West Coast Province, serving for five years in Sparwood, British Columbia, and then nine years in Fort Macleod, Alberta. After retiring he settled in Lethridge, Canada. Bill’s wife, Mildred, predeceased him. He is survived by children Nancy, Peter and Tim and partner Joan.
