Carl R. Bahn ’60
Carl R. Bahn ’60 of Cary, North Carolina, passed away September 19, 2015, after a long illness. He was born in Amsterdam, New York, on March 19, 1937, to Carl and Geraldine Bahn and was married for 54 years to Peggy, formerly Margaret LeRoy, whom he met in church. They had children Terrilynn, Timothy and Tracey. Carl graduated valedictorian from Wilburn Lynch High School in Amsterdam in 1955. At Dartmouth he majored in English. His love of radio broadcasting and writing led him back to Amsterdam to WCSS Radio. In 1965 Carl began a marketing and advertising career with General Electric, staying with them until 1979, when he took a position with Riley Stoker in Worcester, Massachusetts. He retired in 2002 and moved to North Carolina in 2005 to be near his eldest daughter, Terrilynn, and her family. Family, community, church and a continuing engagement in broadcasting were the dominant priorities and commitments in his life. In addition to his wife and children, Carl is survived by five grandchildren, each a source of great pride and happiness. A funeral service was held on October 5, 2015, in Amsterdam and a memorial service on October 10, 2015, at St. Michael’s On-the-Heights Church in Worcester.
