Charles George Antonakos ’52

Charles George Antonakos ’52 of Braintree, Massachusetts, passed away on October 9, 2015. “Gus” graduated from Dorchester High School in Massachusetts and then served for almost three years in the U.S. Marine Corps before entering Dartmouth in 1948. He and his wife of some 65 years, Elizabeth (“Betty”), were married before college. Gus did not graduate from Dartmouth, but transferred to Bridgewater State College (now University) in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. After college Gus joined the Weymouth, Massachusetts, school system, where he taught math and science and served as a guidance counselor for more than 40 years. He is survived by Betty; daughters Stella, Elaine, Pauline and Clio; their spouses; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Gus had seven brothers and sisters, all of whom predeceased him.
