William Ruston Carter Jr. ’55
William Ruston Carter Jr. ’55 died on November 5, 2011, the College recently learned. Bill came to Dartmouth after graduating from the Rivers Country Day School in Weston, Massachusetts. After leaving college he graduated from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. He became an engineer and inventor and an accomplished shipwreck historian and diver. His Dartmouth ties included his father, William ’25, and uncles Albert ’25 and Irving ’29 Carter and Millard Peabody ’25. Bill is survived by his wife, Diana, two sons, two daughters and 10 grandchildren.
