Edward J. O’Rourke ’47

Edward J. O’Rourke ’47 of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, died on June 23, 2015. He was born August 8, 1925, in Brooklyn, grew up in Larchmont, New York, and graduated from Mamaroneck (New York) High School. He joined the class as a civilian in the summer of 1943. He sang in the Glee Club, joined the naval V-12 unit and went on to serve as an ensign in WW II and as a lieutenant in the Korean War. He began his investment banking career with Goldman Sachs in New York and later worked with Blyth and Co. in New York, where he rose to become senior vice president. He served on the board of governors of the American Stock Exchange. He and his wife raised a family in New Canaan, Connecticut. He is survived by his wife and three children.
