Norman Clarence Logan ’52

Norman Clarence Logan ’52 passed away in New London, New Hampshire, on June 12, 2015. Norm was born in Boston and graduated from the Rivers School in Weston, Massachusetts, in 1948. He graduated from Dartmouth in 1952 with a degree in history. He was a member of Kappa Sigma and sang with the Glee Club. During the Korean conflict he served as an officer with the U.S. Air Force Strategic Air Command. In 1957 he began an early career in corporate planning within the electronics and chemical industries before joining the international management-consulting firm of Hay Associates in Philadelphia. In 1972 he joined the investment firm of INA Capital Management Corp. as vice president and treasurer and in 1978 returned to Boston as a senior vice president and chief administrative officer of Keystone Investments, a subsidiary of Travelers Corp. He retired in 1990 and established Logan & Co., a management-consulting firm serving the mutual fund and institutional investor industry. During his retirement he and his wife, “Dusty,” whom he married in 1960, moved to New London, where he became active in community and civic affairs. This included the Rivers School, Sunapee trust investment committee, John Hay National Wildlife Refuge, Lake Sunapee Region Visiting Nurse Association, Browns Hill Association, Highland Ridge Association and Baker Hill Golf Club. Dusty, daughter Deborah ’84, Tu’91, twin sons Jeffrey and Jim and five grandchildren survive him.
