John H. LaMonte ’57

John H. LaMonte ’57 passed away in Columbus, Ohio, on February 23, 2015. John grew up in the Columbus area and came to Dartmouth from Columbus Academy in 1953. At Dartmouth he was a history major and belonged to Phi Delta Tau, the Athletic Council, Green Key Society, the Interfraternity Treasurer’s Council and Dartmouth Christian Union. John had a long, successful career in retail, working for numerous prominent companies, including Lazarus Department Stores and the May Co. He and his family moved several times before retiring in Columbus in 1997. John leaves his wife, Patricia, two children and eight grandchildren
