Kevin J. Travers ’51

Kevin J. Travers ’51, who graduated from Dartmouth’s combined business and engineering (Tuck-Thayer) program and applied these disciplines in a 35-year career in marketing management roles at DuPont, died on January 26, 2015, near his long-time home of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. Kevin’s career at DuPont began in the firm’s atomic energy division and included a variety of technical marketing and manufacturing assignments. He retired in 1986 and enjoyed a second career as a real estate broker. He and his wife, Joan, lived full and active lives in Kennett Square that included gardening (“playing in the yard”), music, art, dancing and golf. Kevin sang with the Forty-Niners, a local singing group, and was known in his retirement community for his beautiful whistling. He loved to paint. Kevin came to Dartmouth from Tenafly, New Jersey. He was a member of the freshman soccer team. Besides his wife, Kevin is survived by four children, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
