Elizabeth Whistling Elk (Boutis) Seibert ’82

Elizabeth Whistling Elk (Boutis) Seibert ’82 of Winchester, Kentucky, passed away March 15, 2014. A native of Rapid City, South Dakota, Liz was a member of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe in Lame Deer, Montana. At Dartmouth she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. Liz held many leadership roles in the communities in which she lived. She was president of the Parent Teacher Association in Kennesaw, Georgia; president of the Parent Teacher Student Organization in Owensboro, Kentucky; a member of the Junior League and Library Guild; and a hospice volunteer. Carol Davis ’82 reflected, “I think that no matter how long you have known someone, there is often one period of their life that defines them for you. With respect to Liz, I will always remember her fondly from our high school years. At Tenafly High there was a group of girls that included Liz who called themselves the Disco Babes and they always seemed to be having a good time. So I would like to remember Liz as someone whose approach to life was to dress up, be surrounded by good friends, turn up the music and dance like it’s always Saturday night.” In addition to her husband, Frederick, Liz is survived by son Daniel, daughter Amanda, brother Teddy and sister Priscilla. Gifts in memory of Elizabeth may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at woundedwarriorproject.org.
