Henry George Reinhardt ’47

Henry George Reinhardt ’47, M.D., of Glen Cove, New York, died on August 10, 2014, of lymphoma. He was born on June 6, 1927, grew up on Long Island and attended Fordham School before he was signed to Dartmouth in the naval V-12 program. He completed medical studies at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York, in 1949. He began his residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital but was recalled by the Navy. From 1949 to 1952 he served in the Naval Medical Corps as a lieutenant, j.g., in Tokyo, the Pacific and at Great Lakes Naval Hospital. He set up a practice in obstetrics and gynecology in Glen Cove with Dr. James Nicolas in the 1970s, retiring in 2005 to care for his ill wife. He joined the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in 1957 and was a member of the Fellow of the American College of Surgeons board of obstetricians and gynecologists in 1962. He is survived by four children.
