Marc W. Farley ’78

Marc W. Farley ’78 of Skillman, New Jersey, passed away on September 19, 2013, at home after a battle with cancer. “Farls” graduated from North Hunterdon Regional High School in Annandale, New Jersey. At Dartmouth he was a member of the crew and a brother at Phi Delta Alpha. He graduated from Fordham Law School in 1984. After five years as a litigator, he became an assistant U.S. attorney in 1989. During his 10 years in this role he was selected to work in the U.S. Office of the Independent Counsel’s “Iraqgate” investigation. From 2004 until his death he worked in a variety of positions at Johnson & Johnson. Marc was known for his wit and humor. Classmates will recall his standup comedy routine as the emcee at our 25th reunion, which included his rendition of the fictional battle between classmate Jeff Immelt ’78 of GE and an offending Frigidaire refrigerator in the third-floor kitchen of Phi Delt. Also memorable was his introduction of Ralph Manual at the 35th reunion just three months before Marc’s death. He ran several marathons and rode many century bike rides and was a lifelong Phillies fan. Marc is survived by his wife, Gwen, children Julian (15) and Matthew (13), parents Marc and Patricia, sister Christine, brother-in-law Chris and numerous nieces and nephews.
