Ronald D. Fraser ’57

Ronald D. Fraser ’57 died at his home in Aurora, Illinois, on February 13, 2014. He grew up in the Chicago area and spent his entire life and career there. Ron came to Dartmouth from Oak Park/River Forest High School. He was a member of Beta Theta Pi, Casque & Gauntlet and Green Key Society. He played football and basketball for four years. He earned his master’s in business administration from the Amos Tuck School and a teaching certificate from Northern Illinois University. Ron had a long career in public education. He started as a teacher and coach at Glen Ellyn High School. He later was school business manager at Glenbard High School, where he was responsible for a $30 million budget for 8,000 students and a staff of 800-plus employees. He retired in 1992. Following retirement he served as regional vice president for Laidlaw Education Services and as an education consultant. Ron enjoyed spending time with his family more than anything. He also loved his dogs, playing golf and tennis and following local professional sports teams. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bears and Bulls. He leaves his wife, Susan, two children and four grandchildren.
