Peter E. Vitella ’57

Peter E. Vitella ’57 passed away in Yardley, Pennsylvania, on February 27, 2014. He grew up in Trenton, New Jersey. He graduated from Trenton High School in 1953. At Dartmouth Pete was an English major and a member of Bones Gate/Delta Tau Delta. He went on to earn a master of arts degree from Temple University. Pete’s career in education included teaching at Trenton High School and Rider College. He worked at Educational Testing Service for 24 years in test development and as director of programs such as Educational Records Bureau and the College Level Examination Program. In a second career Pete earned his certified financial planner designation and worked as a personal financial planner. Pete became an avid Phillies fan in 1946 and never wavered. He also enjoyed tennis, squash, golf and blackjack. He is survived by Susan, his wife of 50 years, two sons and six grandchildren.
