Malcolm I. Lindsay Jr. ’57
Malcolm I. Lindsay Jr. ’57 passed away in Rochester, Minnesota, on February 14, 2014. He came to Dartmouth in 1953 from Washburn High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he was class valedictorian. At Dartmouth Mac was an English major and belonged to the Christian Union, Dartmouth Outing Club, Glee Club and rowing club. He graduated magna cum laude with Phi Beta Kappa. He went on to medical school at the University of Minnesota, graduating in 1961. Following two years of service in the U.S. Army Medical Corps, Mac began a long and distinguished career at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester in 1966. He served on the staff of the division of community internal medicine and was chairman of the division from 1979 to 1987. He retired in 1997 after 30 years on the staff. Mac was an active and enthusiastic member of the First Unitarian Church of Rochester and enjoyed volunteering for Community Food Response. Mac is survived by Karin, his wife of 57 years, four children and six grandchildren.
