Douglas Greist Hoskins Jr. ’54

Douglas Greist Hoskins Jr. ’54 passed away on May 27, 2014. At the time he was living in Shiremanstown, Pennsylvania. Doug came to Dartmouth from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, were he attended Mechanicsburg High School. He was a brother of Delta Kappa Epsilon. After spending three years as an officer in the U.S. Navy he returned to south central Pennsylvania, settling in Shiremanstown. His business career was spent in the insurance industry, primarily in property and casualty insurance. He was the owner and vice president of Owen Inc. in York, Pennsylvania. Doug retired in 1997. He was a mentor and teacher to others in the industry. He served several terms on the Shiremanstown borough council. Doug is survived by his wife, Joyce, son Douglas and daughters Margaret, Elizabeth and Julia.
