Ralph Howard Dushame ’43

Ralph Howard Dushame ’43 died January 13, 2014. Duke grew up in Methuen, Massachusetts. At Hebron Academy he was on the student council and active in dramatics and debating. He also played hockey, tennis and golf. At Dartmouth Duke was a member of Phi Gamma Delta and Sphinx and played hockey and tennis. His studies at Tuck were interrupted by the war, during which he served in the Navy. After WW II Duke worked for Armour Industries Product Co. as a brand marketing manager and then a product marketing manager. He worked with adhesive tapes, abrasives and coated products. He also engaged in the usual community services: church council, school caucus and local YMCA building drive. After many years in Deerfield, Illinois, Duke and his wife, Ruth, moved to Sun City, Arizona, where Duke continued to be active in various sports, including serving on the board of directors of his golf club—president during his last three years. Ever loyal to Dartmouth, Duke was an Alumni Fund volunteer and a class agent. Duke is survived by his wife, Ruth, children Steven ’75, Lisa, Laura and David and three grandchildren.
