Kendall Sherman Way ’51

Kendall Sherman Way ’51, psychologist, educator, businessman and outdoorsman, died on January 12, 2013, in Ridgefield, Connecticut. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, four children and two grandchildren. Ken came to Dartmouth from Browne and Nichols School and following 13 months in the U.S. Navy. He majored in psychology and received both A.B. and A.M. degrees. He was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa. His father, B. Kendall Way, was a 1923 Dartmouth graduate. Following two years with the Central Intelligence Agency in Korea, for which he was awarded the Medal of Freedom, Ken began a 36-year career as a salesman and New England manager for Rogers Publishing Co. Concurrently, from 1964 to 1991, he was a dean at the newly established Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. He obtained a doctor of education degree from the University of Massachusetts in 1981. He was an avid golfer and skier, serving as a member of the National Ski Patrol. He served Dartmouth as a club secretary for many years.
