Charles R. Carey ’70

Charles R. Carey ’70 died unexpectedly on January 19. He lived in Palm Coast, Florida. “Chris” was born in Fort Knox, Kentucky, to Merle and Sarah Carey and was the elder of two sons. As a member of a military family he was raised all over the world. During that time he was a National Merit scholarship finalist and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Chris graduated from Dartmouth in 1970 and earned his M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business in 1971. He served in the U.S. Army as a lieutenant for two years. Following military service he had a distinguished career in marketing and sales, product/business development and executive management. During his career Chris worked for General Foods, Citicorp, American Express, General Electric, Capital One and Korn Ferry. His passion, drive, creativity and integrity were always admired by his colleagues and contributed to his success. Chris loved golf, skiing, scuba diving and photography and was an avid international traveler. He was always devoted to his family and is survived by his loving wife, Molly, and children Sarah, Nick, Andrew and Kelly.
