A long-legged newcomer finds a campus home.

As the Black Family Visual Arts Center opened this fall, along came a spider. The creation of artist Louise Bourgeois, a.k.a. “Spiderwoman,” Crouching Spider is a bronze and stainless steel sculpture that stands more than 8 feet tall. It's on display at the Maffei Arts Plaza for the academic year.
