Hello, ’00s.

Greetings from Karen Liot Hill, guest columnist for this edition of Class Notes. Spring is in the air as I write this column, and I just returned from a wonderful Daffodil Weekend on Nantucket, Massachusetts. In January I was inaugurated to the N.H. Executive Council, an elected body unique to New Hampshire that serves as a check and balance on the governor. These are certainly interesting times to be in government and politics, and I have my hands full as the only Democrat in our state’s executive branch!

We were excited to receive this wonderful news from Kirk Klausmeyer. Kirk wrote in to tell us: “Jenny Wei and I welcomed Zoey Wei Klausmeyer to our family on February 26.” Huge congratulations to Kirk and Jenny and their growing family!

Eleni Manis provided this newsy update: “Sopitsuda (Jiab) Tongsopit, Heather Laura Stewart, Leah (Fourt) Malhotra, and I reunited at the bar mitzvah of Tamar (Tal) Yudenfreund’s son, Ben. Jiab is a mother of three and a strategic planner who helps mobilize investment in clean energy in the Sacramento, California, area. Heather is a community-oriented consultant, musician, and yogi. Leah is a psychiatrist in private practice in the Bay Area; she is excited that her first kid to leave the nest is joining the Dartmouth class of 2029. Tamar is an attorney focused on public policy matters for the financial services industry. I advocate for an end to governmental mass surveillance at the Surveillance Technology Oversight Project in N.Y.C.”

Give a rouse for Alexander Magleby, who was recently promoted to the role of executive chairman of the New England Free Jacks rugby team, which he cofounded along with classmate Errik Anderson. According to the press release, in his new role as executive chairman, “Magleby will focus on strategy, stakeholder collaborations, investor relations, and guiding the executive team while mentoring future leaders of the club.” Go, Mags!

Jolyon and Emily (Cullen) Pruszinski shared a cute pic from the campus of Princeton at the close of the spring term. Jolyon is a lecturer at Princeton and a reparations commission research historian at the Episcopal Diocese of New Jersey, and Emily is a Ph.D. student in ethics at Princeton Theological Seminary. Her work explores the importance of critical race theory for theology. Jolyon captioned the photo of the couple: “Last day of the term with my favorite colleague.” Aww.

Life is full of ups and downs, and we mourn with Kim Keith Berglund, whose family was devastated by the L.A. fires in January. She shared: “Thank you to everybody who has reached out. Unfortunately, we lost our house but we’re all safe. Sending all my positive thoughts and love to everyone affected. It’s truly a horrific scene.” 

As I write this the 25th reunion planning team has been busy finalizing the details for our 25th reunion coming up June 20-22 in Hanover. By the time you read this the weekend will have passed, and we hope many of you will have enjoyed our wonderful tent to serve as home base, dinner on the lawn in front of Baker Tower, and lots of family-friendly activities all weekend. We also held a service in memory of members of our class who have passed since graduation. Many thanks to Josephine Lauer, Joseph C. Scott, Kate Stowe, Kristen Paasch, Molly Otter, Lisa Bianchi, Ben Patch, Katie Gregorio, Lindsay Coe, Joe Peters, and Meghan Candee for their work planning the reunion.
