Ed Gingras is perhaps the class’ most traveled person. He recently made a visit to Equatorial Guinea for a meeting of “Most Traveled People” whose aim is to visit every country. Keep going Ed. Gib Myers provided an update of his American Prairie efforts. “Since 2004 we have completed 43 transactions to build our habitat base of 526,959 acres. Of that total 140,443 acres are private lands owned by American Prairie and 386,516 acres are leased public lands (federal and state). We are cautiously optimistic that we could add an additional 70,000 acres of deeded and leased habitat to our base in 2025, bringing our total to more than 600,000 acres.” Great effort, Gib. Lee Chilcote became the 75th recipient to receive the Man of the Year award from University School, one of the nations’ top independent boys’ schools, located in Cleveland. The award is given to an alumnus who has provided extraordinary service to the school and his community. Lee has served as a trustee of the school for 35 years and has been active in philanthropy and nonprofit endeavors in northeast Ohio for more than 50 years. He still has an active law practice and is proud to have his four children and five grandchildren all living in Cleveland. Congratulations, Lee. We asked David Plavin, who gave us a terrific Zoom session last year, to update us on the problems at Newark Airport. His list of issues is very long. The problems lie with all involved and there are no easy answers. Perhaps one should stay away from Newark airport until they do more hiring of controllers or reduce the number of scheduled flights. Have a great summer.
