L. Michael Corcoran ’54


L. Michael Corcoran ’54 passed away on December 16, 2012, in Austin, Texas. Mike came to Dartmouth from Ridgewood (New Jersey) High School. At Dartmouth he was a brother of Phi Sigma Kappa. After graduating from Dartmouth he received a M.B.A., with emphasis on international business, from the University of Michigan Business School. Mike then joined the Continental Oil Co. in Houston and relocated to London and Munich, assisting in building retail distribution networks of American petroleum in Western Europe. In 1968 he left the oil business to join the family furniture business in Madrid. In 1975 he returned to Houston, where he worked the remainder of his career in the oil and gas business as a headhunter. Mike is survived by his children Erin, Mary, Laurence and Courtney.
