Cyrus Gates Allen ’45


Cyrus Gates Allen ’45 passed away February 20. Cy was born and raised in Denver. He graduated from Dartmouth and served as a bombardier instructor in the Army Air Force in WW II. Cy’s career was spent with his family business, the Bohm-Allen Jewelry Co., Cyrus Allen Jr. & Co. and real estate. He was a member of the Denver Country Club, Rotary Gyro Club and Roundup Riders of the Rockies. Cy was an avid sportsman. An ideal day was spent skiing with family or friends, scoring another hole-in-one or riding his horse. He was predeceased by his father, Cyrus Sr., his mother, Isabel, and his sister Nancy. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lucille, children Cyrus “Buck” III ’71 and Wendy and grandsons Edwin and Arthur.
