Keith H. Robinson ’47

Keith H. Robinson ’47 of Newport Beach, California, died December 26, 2012. He grew up in Presque Isle, Maine, and attended Foxcroft Academy. He was assigned to Dartmouth in the Navy V-12 program, majored in chemistry and was active on the Outing Club. He went on to train as a naval aviator, serving from 1943 to 1975, when he retired as a captain. As a naval aviator, he was qualified to fly 22 different naval aircraft. He served on several aircraft carriers, as an instructor at the U.S. Naval Officer Candidate School and as branch head at the Bureau of Naval Weapons in the missile ordnance division in Washington, D.C. During his active service he was the commander of two naval aviation squadrons and received multiple awards for his service, including the Navy Legion of Merit. In 1962 he earned an M.B.A. from George Washington University. He went on to earn an M.B.E. from Claremont Graduate School in 1971 and a Ph.D. in 1972. After retirement he worked in financial investing for Shearson Lehman Brothers and served as an adjunct professor of economics at National University. He is survived by his wife and four children.
