David L. Doud ’51

David L. Doud ’51, M.D., a distinguished surgeon and lifelong contributor to his hometown of Bloomington, Illinois, died on August 9, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Connie, four children and 12 grandchildren. Dave practiced surgery for more than 30 years following graduation from Northwestern University Medical School and service in the U.S. Army. He was chief of surgery at Brokaw Hospital in Bloomington and served on the boards of the hospital, board of health, cancer society and the American College of Surgeons. In addition, he was actively involved in the Bloomington community as a board member of the local bank, chamber of commerce, United Way and his country club. Dave loved sports, especially golf and skiing, which he pursued at every opportunity. At Dartmouth Dave was a member of Sigma Chi and active in the Outing Club and the Ledyard Canoe Club.
