Thomas O. Malcolm ’54

Thomas O. Malcolm ’54 passed away on February 16 in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Tom came to Dartmouth from Upper Darby High School, where he was one of the all-time best Pennsylvania high school wrestlers. At Dartmouth he majored in economics and was a brother of Sigma Chi. Tom played varsity football and was part of Dartmouth’s first rugby team. He was a member of Sphinx, Undergraduate Council and Interfraternity Council and president of Green Key. After graduation he served in the Navy in Washington, D.C., then received his law degree from Georgetown Law School. He practiced law with a firm in Philadelphia for 11 years and formed a law firm in West Chester, where he spent his remaining years before retiring. Tom was an outstanding litigator and was admitted as a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He served the class of 1954 as class agent and Dartmouth as a club president and district enrollment director. Tom was predeceased by his wife, Helen, and is survived by his children Harry ’80, Stuart ’81, Jennifer, Timothy ’87 and Carol Curly ’90.
