Charles Thomas Drake ’73


Charles Thomas Drake ’73 died on November 26, 2011, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, after a battle with cancer. A native of West Lebanon, New Hampshire, Charlie came to Dartmouth from Lebanon High School, where he was the captain of the football and the track teams. He was quarterback of the Lebanon High School football team that won the New Hampshire state championship in 1968. At the College he majored in psychology, played intramural sports and was the business manager of the Aegis during his junior year. Charlie was a member of Kappa Kappa Kappa and served on his fraternity’s rush committee. He volunteered for two years as a tutor in the Upper Valley Tutorial Program. After graduation Charlie returned to Lebanon, where he taught for several years in elementary school, after which he established Drake Builders and became an accomplished carpenter. He is survived by his wife, Kristi, and daughters Ziven and Farrell.
