Andrew W. Stone ’60


Andrew W. Stone ’60 died September 17, 2011, at Veterans Association hospital in Vero Beach, Florida. Andy and his wife, Rosemarie, had moved from Buffalo, New York, to Vero Beach seven years before, following Andy’s retirement. Andy was born in Jamaica Plains, New York, and grew up in New Canaan, Connecticut, graduating from Forest Hills High School prior to his matriculation at Dartmouth in 1956. At Dartmouth Andy majored in geology, was a member of Phi Delta Theta/Phi Delta Alpha, played freshman tennis and was active in the DOC and the Geological Society. Andy is survived by Rosemarie; children Jonathan, Kathleen, Jennifer and Elizabeth; and sister Eleanor. A memorial service was held for family and friends on October 4, 2011.
