John Warner Clow ’52
John Warner Clow ’52, a resident of Sonoma, California, passed away from Parkinson’s disease at home on July 11. John was born in Denver, attended East High School there and graduated from Dartmouth with a Tuck major. He was a member of the ski patrol. Following college John entered the U.S. Air Force and earned the rank of captain. He also earned an M.B.A. at the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. John married Martha Hewitt deMey (now deceased) in 1956. They divorced in 1983 and John married Abby Dickow Biegel in 1985. John and Abby moved to Sonoma, where they lived until his passing. John is survived by Abby; her son David; his children Eric ’80, Greg ’81, Amelia, Guy and Louise; and nine grandchildren. John was a certified public accountant (CPA), first as a partner in the firm of Webb & Webb, then with his own firm. He also acted as a financial advisor and officer for other firms and as president of the San Francisco chapter of the California CPA Society. John had a wide range of interests in his profession and in life. He was a pilot, skier and naturalist, had a deep interest in genealogy and bred of llamas on his ranch. He also served Dartmouth as a club president, class agent and through other alumni activities. Throughout his last 15 years John and Abby traveled together extensively.
