Richard H. Greene ’48
Richard H. Greene ’48 died on February 7 in Exeter, New Hampshire. Dick came to Dartmouth from Needham (Massachusetts) High School, received his B.A. in 1948 and M.B.A. from Tuck School in 1953 after interruptions for service in the Army, where he served in the Counter Intelligence Corps in West Germany and again when he was recalled during the Korean War as a field office commander. At Dartmouth Dick was a member of the Undergraduate Council, German Club, Tabard/Sigma Chi and Casque & Gauntlet. He began his career at Eaton Howard in Boston in 1953 as a security analyst and later vice president and portfolio manager. He and Marilyn “Lynn” Williams married in 1963. He joined the Boston Co. Advisors in 1964 and in 1975 the family moved to Sewickley, Pennsylvania, where Dick managed the pension fund for Pittsburgh-based Allegany International. On retirement they moved to New London, New Hampshire, and later Exeter. Throughout his life Dick has been a strong supporter of Dartmouth and the class, with which he held responsibilities through the years as president, treasurer and secretary and attended almost all reunions even when ailing in recent years. Dick is survived by Lynn, children Alison, Jeff and Doug and three grandchildren.
