Allen “Mac” E. McMichael ’48
Allen “Mac” E. McMichael ’48 died in Virginia Beach, Virginia, on February 14. He was born in Morristown, Minnesota, and served in World War II as an enlisted Marine before coming to Dartmouth under the Marine V-12 program. He was later commissioned as a naval officer and served in the Korean War as a clinical psychologist and subsequently as an operational psychologist with aviation research expertise for more than 25 years. He retired in 1973, as a captain of the Navy’s military sealift command, from the staff of the chief of naval education and training. Mac was a class agent for several years and handled a number of responsibilities through the years for the Dartmouth Club of Hampton Roads. His wife, Ruth, predeceased him in 1996. He is survived by his sisters Barbara and Jean.
