Marvin M. Stephens Jr. ’50

Marvin M. Stephens Jr. ’50 died on September 28, 2010, at the Virginia Medical Center. The son of a career Navy officer, Marv attended primary and secondary schools in Tsingtao, China; Manila, Philippines; Honolulu, Hawaii; Coronado, California; New London, Connecticut; and Washington, D.C. He served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946. Although he did not graduate, while at Dartmouth he was a member of the Glee Club, German Club, Dartmouth Outing Club, Foley House and Delta Upsilon. He did graduate from American University in Washington, D.C. He retired in 2003 as an information technology specialist with 50 years service in the government, including assignments in the Department of Defense, the Department of Health, Education and Welfare and the Department of Transportation. He was active in sports including golf, skiing and especially tennis. He is survived by his brother Franklin.
