Remsen Meserole Kinne III ’52

Remsen Meserole Kinne III ’52 died on January 22 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire. Rem was born in Boston and grew up in Delmar, New York. He was graduated from Bethlehem Central High School in 1948, Dartmouth in 1952 and Harvard Law School in 1955. At Dartmouth he majored in history and was a member of Chi Phi. While attending Harvard Law School he was chairman of the board of student advisors. Following law school he based his law practice and family in greater Boston, later residing in Needham, Massachusetts, and then New London, New Hampshire. He joined the Boston law firm of Hale and Dorr in 1955. His practice focused on advising on trusts and estates planning. He held leadership positions including terms as chairman of the trusts and estates department, vice chair of the executive committee and chair of the firm’s art committee. Through board and committee work he counseled development and program initiatives of Dartmouth, Harvard Law School, the Handel and Haydn Society of Boston and Dartmouth Hood Museum and Hopkins Center. Rem retired to Lake Sunapee, New Hampshire, where he was a member of the Lake Sunapee Yacht Club, the Newport Tennis Club and the Baker Hill Golf Club. He is survived by his wife, Joan, and children and stepchildren Remsen IV, Corbin, William and Wendy. He also leaves one sister and six grandchildren and step-grandchildren.
