Jessica Sasha Bright ’09

Jessica Sasha Bright ’09, known to friends and family as Sasha, died on September 11, 2010. She was born in Seattle, Washington, to parents Mildred and Arthur Bright and later resided in Renton, Washington. In the fall of 2005 Sasha graduated from Kentridge High School and then earned her A.A. degree with high honors from Green River Community College in Auburn, Washington. She then went on to Dartmouth, where she explored her passion for music and writing. Sasha played the snare drum in the Marching Band and loved taking writing classes during her final terms. Her friends knew her as a fun, witty, sensitive and kindhearted individual who was extremely respected and well liked. After graduating Sasha volunteered at the Experience Music Project in Seattle, Washington, a museum dedicated to exploring innovation in rock ’n’ roll and its roots in jazz, soul, gospel, country and the blues. It was a fitting position for a girl who was known to blast Hendrix and Johnny Cash from her room and who could play the cello, bass and guitar. Sasha’s gentle spirit and passion will be sorely missed. She is survived by her parents and her older sister, Jasmin.
