Lawrence Carl Pederson ’48


Lawrence Carl Pederson ’48 died on May 21 in Thetford, Vermont. He came to Dartmouth in the Navy V-12 program and was commissioned and served in the fleet before returning to campus for his degree in physics. While on campus he was a member of the DOC. He spent his entire working career as a manufacturer’s representative in the heating, refrigeration and air conditioning industry. His last position before retirement was as a vice president of D.R. Whipple & Co in Schenectady, New York. Larry remained in the Navy Research Reserve for 20 years, was a Sea Scout leader and also served for many years on the board of the Schenectady Light Opera Co. He was active as a class agent and local Dartmouth club member. Christina, his wife of 64 years, survives him, as do sons Carl ’73 and Neil.
