Mark Bandeen ’83

Mark Bandeen ’83 died on October 28, 2009, at his home in La Jolla, California. Son Bradford and daughter Blair ’12, Mark’s parents, Robert and Mona, his brothers and their families, and his ex-wife, Janice Gaynor Bandeen ’81, survive him. Mark came to Dartmouth after growing up in Canada and attending school in Canada and Wales. While at Dartmouth Mark was a member of Beta Theta Pi and played rugby. He was an economics major, graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Following graduation Mark worked for several prominent investment banks in Canada and the United States. He received his M.B.A. in 1987, a classmate of Davies Beller ’83 and Mike Fisch ’83, from Stanford University. He then worked for Genstar Investments in San Francisco and American Securities Partners in New York. Mark was a successful investor and shared that success recently in donating generously to our 25th reunion campaign and in supporting Beta’s return to campus last year. His sudden death brings to an end the life of a generous and gregarious man, diligent in his responsibilities to his peers and his family. He will be sorely missed.
