Richard Crowley ’81

Richard Crowley ’81 died peacefully December 19, 2024, at Swedish Hospital in Issaquah, Washington. He came to Dartmouth on a flight with Kevin Lewis ’81 and Hallidie Grant ’81 and at the College majored in history, lived in Middle Fayerweather, and participated in Delta Psi Delta, and intramural football, lacrosse, and rugby. He later graduated from the University of Washington. He was a talented young man who developed debilitating health issues, including bipolar disorder his senior year in high school. He dealt with a palsied condition as a result of the psychotropic medicines used to stabilize his disorder, which wore him down through 45 years. He lived in Issaquah near his parents, Jack ’56 and Beth, and was active with theater, music, family, and friends. Dick played with Black Dog Productions in a number of theatrical shows in nearby Snoqualmie, including A Beautiful Mind, Our Town, and Uncle Vanya. He also participated in a pickup rock band with a member of the class of ’58. He is survived by his parents.
