Jeffrey Mason Halenza ’67

Jeffrey Mason Halenza ’67 died on January 12 in Smyrna, Georgia. He came to the College from Richfield, Minnesota; majored in modified religion; and was a brother of Beta Theta Pi. After graduation, Jeff received a master’s in divinity in 1970 from Yale University. He served two congregations, one in Nashville and one in Memphis, Tennessee, before moving to Riverdale, Georgia, where he was mission developer of Christ Our Hope Lutheran Church. He was called as pastor after developing the congregation and served in that role until his death. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kitty; daughters Nan and Jennie; son-in-law Dan; grandchildren Emma, Sidney, and Jeffrey; brother Judd; sister-in-law Susan; nephews Judd and Justin; and niece Brooke.
