Andrew C. Gundlach ’65

Andrew C. Gundlach ’65 died on December 22, 2023, in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. He came to Dartmouth from Summit, New Jersey. A mathematics major, he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon and cheerleader captain. Andy had a successful career as a pension actuary and was a fellow of the Society of Actuaries. He was a partner at KPMG, Peat Marwick, and, ultimately, CEO of Actuarial Perspectives Inc. Andy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was proud of his three children and adored his three grandchildren, offering them support, love, and fun. His favorite things were sitting on the porch looking out at the view of a small lake in northern New Jersey and riding a bike on Sanibel Island, Florida. Andy excelled in competitive sports, including soccer, tennis, skating, gymnastics, and diving. He was best known for his mischievous side, especially pranks in good fun. He loved a challenging game of bridge or cribbage, even when his granddaughters beat him. He was especially adept at putting together Legos with his grandson. Andy is survived by his wife of 56 years, Addie; daughter Katherine; son Andrew II and his wife, Lisa; son Mark and his wife, Wendy; grandchildren Brody, Emma, and Brooke; brother Thomas and his wife, Joanne; sister-in-law Cynthia; and brother-in-law Peter.
